Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Lead the strategic development and delivery of Napier Libraries’ collections across all formats, from print to digital.
- Drive innovation and accessibility, including digitisation projects and technology integration.
- Build collections that reflect the diversity of Napier, including a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive representation.
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and reporting with precision and confidence.
- Lead and mentor a skilled and collaborative team, fostering continuous improvement and customer focus.
- Be a key part of a library service that’s evolving to meet the changing needs of our community.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
- A tertiary library qualification or 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide others.
- Excellent knowledge of digital resource management and library management systems.
- Solid understanding of copyright, privacy, and public records legislation.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and vendor relationships.
- A passion for innovation and inclusivity, with the ability to connect strategy with day-to-day operations.

This is a permanent, full time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be based across Napier and Taradale Library.
The annual salary package for this role is between $79,000-$93,000 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
