Step into a leadership role where every day brings the energy of live performance and the buzz of a full house. As our Event and Ticketing Team Leader, you’ll oversee the delivery of seamless, memorable experiences for audiences at the Municipal Theatre. From ticketing services and front-of-house operations to ensuring compliance and smooth event delivery, you’ll be at the centre of making our Theatre one of Napier’s premier cultural venues.
This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity to lead a dedicated team, build strong relationships with promoters and community groups, and drive audience growth. You’ll actively monitor ticket purchasing patterns and respond with targeted digital campaigns, using social media and other online tools to engage audiences and boost sales. With your eye for detail, customer-first mindset, and ability to juggle competing priorities, you’ll bring both operational oversight and fresh, creative ideas to a role where no two days are the same.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of ticketing and front-of-house operations for Napier’s Municipal Theatre.
- Oversee the smooth running of events, ensuring logistics, safety, and service excellence are consistently met.
- Drive audience growth by analysing ticket purchasing patterns and implementing targeted digital campaigns, promotions, and partnerships.
- Support marketing initiatives, CRM systems, and digital platforms to enhance engagement and create seamless audience experiences.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to a motivated ticketing and FOH team.
- Gain invaluable venue management and leadership experience in this 12-month fixed term role.

- Experienced in event or venue management, with a background in ticketing or front-of-house operations.
- A confident leader who can motivate, support, and get the best out of staff and volunteers.
- Skilled at using ticketing and CRM systems, with the ability to pick up new tech quickly.
- Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Customer-focused, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable with financial processes including contracts, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Passionate about the arts, culture, and creating outstanding audience experiences.

This is a fixed-term position covering parental leave from November 2025 to December 2026, with the possibility of an earlier end date should the incumbent return to work sooner.
You will work 40 hours per week with some flexibility required in your pattern of work depending on the requirements of the events on site. You will be based at the Municipal Theatre in Napier.
The annual salary package for this role is between $84,600-$99,500 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
