We’re searching for two dynamic and persuasive Visitor Experience Team Members to join our small but mighty crew at the National Aquarium of New Zealand for the upcoming summer season (a seven-month contract, with the potential to extend into the winter season for the right superstar).

Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Leading engaging Aquarium tours that not only educate and inspire but actively promote premium experiences, encouraging visitors to explore more and stay longer.
- Confidently up-selling guided experiences, exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunities, and conservation-based activities, tailored to the interests of each visitor.
- Delivering touch table activities and themed talks that double as memorable learning moments and promotional opportunities.
- Tracking and reporting on visitor engagement, identifying trends and opportunities to improve sales performance.

- You’ll bring a strong background in sales and customer-facing roles. You know how to close a sale and up-sell with tact and enthusiasm.
- You’re a high-energy performer with the dramatic presence to captivate audiences, physical stamina for dynamic engagement, and the persuasive confidence to steer conversations toward premium, value-added experiences.
- Availability to work 27 rostered hours weekly, including weekends and public holidays.
- Solid communication skills across diverse audiences, including international visitors.
- Basic understanding of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori, or a willingness to grow in this area.

This is a seven month fixed term opportunity over the upcoming busy summer season. You will work 27 hours a week over rostered shifts that will include weekends and public holidays. These opportunities are based at the National Aquarium of New Zealand on Napier’s Marine Parade.
Remuneration for these roles will be between $27-$32 per hour, depending on your skills and experience.
We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
