Senior Parking & Napier Assist Officer/ Āwhina Tāngata
Be the calm, visible presence that helps keep Napier safe, welcoming, and running smoothly — for our community and our visitors.
This is a role where no two shifts look the same. One moment you might be helping a visitor find their way around the city, the next you’re supporting your team through a challenging interaction or responding to an issue in the community. As a Senior Officer, you’ll be right at the heart of Napier out on the streets, in the CCTV room, and alongside your team helping create an environment where people feel safe, supported, and respected.
You’ll bring experience and confidence to the role, but just as importantly, you’ll bring a steady, people-first approach. You’ll support the Team Leader, guide and mentor others, and step into more complex situations when needed. This is about leading by example, building trust with the community, and helping your team grow all while keeping things fair, consistent, and aligned with how we show up as a Council.
