Procurement Business Partner
Play a key role in delivering smarter procurement outcomes that support the future of our city.
Napier City Council is looking for an experienced Procurement Business Partner to provide advice and support across a range of procurement activities. From early planning through to tendering and contract delivery, you’ll work with teams across Council to ensure procurement processes are well managed, compliant, and deliver value for money.
Partnering with the Procurement Lead, you’ll help promote consistent procurement practices across the organisation while contributing to improvements in governance, processes, and commercial outcomes.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
Provide practical procurement advice across planning, tendering, and contract management activities.
Partner with Portfolio Leads, Project Managers, and teams across Council to support effective procurement outcomes.
Help ensure procurement activities are compliant, well-managed, and deliver value for money.
Identify and manage procurement and contract risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation is in place.
Support improvements to procurement processes, practices, and frameworks across the organisation.
Work alongside the Procurement Lead and Contracts Lead to strengthen governance and drive better commercial outcomes.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
Proven experience working in procurement or commercial roles, with strong end-to-end procurement knowledge.
Confidence providing practical advice and guidance to stakeholders across a range of projects or services.
Sound understanding of procurement frameworks, governance, and risk management.
Experience working with standard contract suites such as NZS3910 and tender documentation.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
A collaborative approach and the ability to work across teams to achieve positive commercial outcomes.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier.
The annual salary package for this role is between $105,700-$124,300 (including KiwiSaver) with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
