Bay Skate is a busy, community-focused skate facility where people of all ages come to have fun, challenge themselves, and connect. As a casual Bay Skate Crew Member, you’ll help keep the park running smoothly — from customer service and daily safety checks, to supporting events and making sure equipment and spaces are clean and ready to use.
This is an active, hands-on role where no two days look the same. You’ll be interacting with customers, helping maintain a safe environment, supporting programmes, and pitching in wherever needed to keep Bay Skate welcoming and operating well.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Greet customers, answer questions, handle hires and retail sales, and make sure everyone feels welcome.
- Carry out daily facility checks — tidying spaces, restocking equipment, cleaning surfaces, and maintaining skate gear.
- Monitor the skate areas to ensure users are safe, offer guidance on rules, and respond to incidents or first aid situations.
- Support events, programmes, birthday bookings, and community activities by setting up spaces and assisting during sessions.

- Experienced in customer service and confident speaking with people of all ages — especially young people.
- Calm, practical, and able to step in quickly when something needs to be tidied, fixed, or addressed.
- Comfortable enforcing safety rules in a friendly, fair, and respectful way.
- Flexible to work weekends, evenings, school holidays, and busier seasonal periods.

This is a casual role with hours offered as needed and arranged to suit availability. You’ll be working on-site at Bay Skate on Napier’s Marine Parade.
The hourly rate for this role is between $25.20-$29.60 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on skills and experience.
