Te Āheinga - The Opportunity

• Lead the development of long-term renewal and investment strategies for Napier’s waters networks.
• Apply lifecycle asset management principles to ensure infrastructure remains efficient, resilient, and sustainable.
• Use tools such as GIS, AMIS, and hydraulic/network modelling to drive scenario testing and capacity planning.
• Contribute to national compliance and reporting requirements, ensuring our plans meet both local and regulatory expectations.
• Collaborate across technical and strategic teams to ensure decisions are well-informed and aligned with community needs.

He kōrero mōhou - About You

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, with at least 5 years’ experience in infrastructure planning (ideally within water services).
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, renewal forecasting, and infrastructure valuation.
• Proficiency with GIS, AMIS, and modelling tools, with proven experience in data governance and validation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to work across technical and non-technical teams.
• Collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to balance strategic intent with practical outcomes.

This is a permanent, full time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier.

The annual salary package for this role is $105,700-$124,300 (including KiwiSaver) with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
