Join a friendly, innovative team with big goals, where you don’t need to rent a space for your PT sessions, and where you have a Team and Manager who will support your growth and development! This could be during the week or weekend, so it's important that you have the flexibility to work at the time required.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Be friendly and approachable, helping with gym equipment and offering advice when needed for all gym enthusiasts from beginners to experienced.
- Run group fitness sessions - lead a range of programs, including HIIT sessions, circuit training, Les Mills classes (if certified), small group and online workouts, Function Fitness sessions
- Prepare and manage sessions - set up / set down and organise equipment for the sessions. Stick to scheduled times, including setup and cleanup. Clean and store equipment properly after use.
- Always ensure gym areas are supervised.
- Work along side a team to support booking in clients, nutrition sessions and consultations.
- Connect with other wider staff at the facility and report emergencies or issues in a timely way.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
- Knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, days and evenings as well as availability for weekends.
- Hold a First Aid Certificate and respond to emergencies.
- Have or be working towards Personal Training/Group Fitness qualifications.
- Les Mills certification, nutrition, sports coaching or similar experience is a plus.
This is a casual opportunity working on an as-needed basis across Ocean Spa and the Napier Aquatic Centre.
Base rate ranges from $27 - $31 per hour PLUS allowances (PT Allowance ranges from $11 – 15p/h and Group Allowance ranges from $38 - $50 p/h)
We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
