Principal Infrastructure Analyst

Napier is continuing to grow, and the way we plan and invest in infrastructure today will shape how the city functions in the future. We’re looking for a Principal Infrastructure Analyst to join us on a 12 month period to provide strategic leadership and analysis that supports long-term infrastructure planning and investment across Napier.
Working across Council, this role helps guide evidence-based strategies for key infrastructure networks, including transport and the inner harbour, ensuring investment decisions support a well-connected and resilient city.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
Lead the development of infrastructure strategies, policies, and investment frameworks that support Napier’s long-term planning.
Work across Council to support integrated planning across transport, open spaces, reserves, and building assets.
Provide strategic analysis and asset lifecycle insight to help inform infrastructure investment decisions.
Support the planning and long-term management of Napier’s transport network and inner harbour infrastructure.
Represent Napier City Council in regional and national infrastructure discussions and partnerships.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, or a related field.
Around 8+ years’ experience in infrastructure strategy, asset management, or advisory roles.
Strong understanding of infrastructure systems and integrated planning approaches.
Analytical thinker who can translate complex information into clear insights and advice.
Confident working across teams and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

This is a fixed term, full-time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier.
The annual salary package for this role is between $120,700 – $140,000 (including KiwiSaver) with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
