We’re looking for a motivated Procurement & Contracts Coordinator to join our Strategy & Programme Delivery team. In this pivotal role, you’ll help ensure Napier City Council’s procurement and contracts processes are efficient, compliant, and customer-focused — supporting projects that make a real difference for our community.
Working closely with the wider Procurements and Contracts team and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you’ll bring structure, clarity, and momentum to every stage of the procurement process. Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Coordinate the day-to-day administration of procurement and contract activities, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery.
- Support communication and collaboration across teams and with suppliers, consultants, and contractors.
- Help monitor adherence to Council policies and procurement standards to maintain quality and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, contributing to a culture of efficiency and continuous learning.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- 2–3 years’ experience in administration, ideally within procurement or contract management environments.
- Strong computer literacy, technical aptitude, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Confident communicator who builds positive working relationships across all levels.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated to learn, grow, and contribute to team success.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier CBD.
The annual salary package for this role is between $63,700-$75,000 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
