Finance and Rates Project Coordinator (Fixed Term - 30 hours per week)

We’re looking for a skilled Finance and Rates Projects Coordinator to join our Finance team on a ten-month fixed-term basis.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving projects that improve the way we manage rates and deliver services to our community. From supporting the rollout of a new direct debit system to helping implement a debt management policy, you’ll be hands-on with meaningful projects that make real efficiencies for both our team and our ratepayers. Alongside project work, you’ll provide coordination, support, and back-up across the Rates team to ensure day-to-day operations continue to run smoothly.

- Lead and support key finance and rates projects, including the implementation of new systems and processes that improve efficiency and service delivery.

He kōrero mōhou - About You
- Proven experience in project coordination and customer service, ideally within local government, finance, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of compliance frameworks and financial or rating systems, with the ability to apply them in practice.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident using a range of software systems and tools, with the adaptability to pick up new platforms quickly.

This is a ten-month fixed term opportunity working part time for 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday. There is some flexibility in the pattern of work over that 30 hours. You will be based in Napier CBD.
The annual salary package for this role is between $68,500-$80,600 (including KiwiSaver) which will be pro rated for 30 hours a week. The final offer depending on your skills and experience.
