Napier City Council is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Regulatory Administrator to support our Regulatory Delivery team. In this role, you will provide high-quality administrative support across key council regulatory functions, including LIMs, environmental health, alcohol licensing, resource consents, parking, and compliance. You will maintain accurate records, coordinate information requests, support compliance processes, and help streamline systems to ensure efficiency and adherence to council policies and legislation.

You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, contribute to process improvements, and support the council’s broader strategic goals.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Provide key administrative support to ensure smooth regulatory operations.
- Coordinate information requests, complaints, and compliance processes.
- Improve processes and systems to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Engage with the public to educate and promote compliance with regulatory requirements.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
- NCEA Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative role, ideally in a regulatory environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent customer service skills and clear communication across all levels.
- Positive, flexible, and collaborative approach; able to take ownership and work independently.
- Motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement.

This is a permanent, full time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier’s CBD.
The annual salary package for this role is between $59,700 and $70,321 (including KiwiSaver) depending on your skills and experience.
