Napier City Council is embarking on a transformational journey to deliver a future-ready Civic Precinct that enhances service delivery, community outcomes, and operational excellence. We’re seeking a strategic and dynamic Transition Manager on a two year fixed term basis to lead this critical programme of change.
This brand-new role offers you the opportunity to drive the successful implementation of our Civic Precinct Service Model. You’ll develop and execute a comprehensive transition plan, prepare the implementation business case, and coordinate cross-organisational planning and delivery. This role is pivotal in managing complex service changes, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder engagement to ensure a seamless and impactful transformation.

- Lead the development and execution of the Civic Precinct transition plan and business case
- Coordinate change activities across services, systems, and staff to ensure continuity and minimise disruption
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders
- Manage risks, compliance, and financial performance within approved budgets
- Track progress, report to governance and leadership, and embed continuous improvement

This is a two year fixed term opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier CBD.
The annual salary package for this role is between $122,000-$132,000 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
