We're on the lookout for an experienced, customer-focused leader to guide the day-to-day operations of Faraday’s Customer Services team. In this full-time, hands-on role, you’ll lead by example—coaching our fantastic casual staff and volunteers, delivering memorable visitor experiences, and ensuring the smooth running of public programmes, events, retail, and education groups.
To thrive in this role, you will need a genuine love for museums and a passion for sharing that enthusiasm with others. You'll play a key part in maintaining our high standards, identifying opportunities to grow the museum, driving commercial opportunities, and upholding a warm, welcoming environment that reflects the spirit of Faraday.

Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Lead and roster the front-of-house team and volunteers
- Deliver great customer service and visitor experiences
- Oversee daily museum operations, education and events
- Managing our retail sector.
- Ensure public spaces are clean, welcoming, and well presented

- Experienced in leading customer service or hospitality teams
- Friendly, well organised, and great under pressure
- Confident with rosters, systems, and problem-solving
- Willing to occasionally work weekends, evenings, and public holidays

This is an 18-month fixed-term, full-time role working 40 hours per week at the Faraday Museum of Technology in Napier. While the role is primarily Monday to Friday, flexibility is essential as occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support events and coordinate with our valued volunteer team.
Salary range of $70,000-$82,000 dependent on your skills and experience.
