Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
As our Workflow Improvement Lead, you will lead a high-impact transformation workstream focused on improving how work flows across the organisation.
You’ll design and deliver better workflows, remove friction, and build capability across NCC so teams can work more effectively and deliver better outcomes for the community.
This is a two year fixed term role that will:
Lead a cross-organisational workstream that improves how services and processes are delivered
Identify, prioritise, and deliver impactful improvement initiatives
Analyse current-state processes to identify inefficiencies, friction points, and opportunities
Co-design smarter, more effective workflows with teams across the organisation
Establish and lead a centre of excellence for workflow improvement
Build organisational capability in continuous improvement, process design, and problem-solving
Work closely with leaders, managers, and frontline teams to understand challenges and co-create solutions
Drive adoption and embed new ways of working
Implement workflow tracking, transparency, and reporting to support better management and decision-making

We’re looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery:
Experience leading process improvement, transformation, or operational excellence initiatives
Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, process mapping, problem-solving)
Proven ability to identify the right problems and deliver tangible outcomes
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influence skills
Experience building capability and embedding sustainable change across an organisation
A collaborative, pragmatic approach with a focus on delivering real-world impact

This is a fixed term, full time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier’s CBD.
The annual salary package for this role is between $112,912 - $132,837 (including KiwiSaver) depending on your skills and experience.
