Front of House Usher (Casual)
Love live events and creating great experiences for people? Step into the spotlight behind the scenes and help bring unforgettable performances to life.
As a Front of House Usher at the Napier Municipal Theatre, you’ll be one of the first people our patrons meet welcoming them in, helping them find their seats, and making sure they feel comfortable throughout the event. You’ll play a key part in creating a friendly, well-run environment so people can simply relax and enjoy the show.
Working alongside the Front of House team, you’ll support events from start to finish helping with seating, managing the flow of guests, and responding to any questions or issues that come up. You’ll also need to be ready to step in when things don’t go to plan, helping keep both patrons and your team safe. It’s a great way to gain hands-on experience in live events while being part of a supportive team.

A friendly, approachable manner with a genuine enjoyment of helping people
Demonstrated customer service experience, ideally in hospitality, events, or a public-facing role
Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond confidently to changing situations
Reliable, adaptable, and open to learning new skills and procedures
An interest in theatre, live events, or the performing arts
This is a casual role, offering flexibility to work on an as-required basis to suit both you and the team.
The hourly rate for this role is between $24.45-$28.75 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
