Join Napier City Council as a Customer Services Officer in this one-year fixed-term opportunity, and play a key role in providing friendly, professional, and efficient service to our community. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for residents, ratepayers, and visitors — handling enquiries, applications, bookings, payments, and complaints with accuracy and care. You’ll guide customers through Council processes, connect them to the right resources, and help solve problems to ensure successful outcomes.

Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient frontline service to all customers.
- Process applications, registrations, bookings, and payments accurately and promptly.
- Manage service requests and maintain knowledge resources to ensure quality outcomes.
- Provide information and guidance, helping customers navigate Council services and connect with the right people.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Council processes and service delivery.

- Strong customer service experience, with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer, system administration, and data entry skills.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and prioritise effectively while maintaining accuracy.
- A proactive, reliable, and solution-focused approach, with enthusiasm for helping people and improving services.

This is a one year fixed term, full time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in our Customer Service Centre on Hastings St in Napier.
The annual salary package for this role is $59,700-$70,300 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
