Recruitment Advisor - Part Time

Are you passionate about recruitment and committed to getting the right people in the right roles to achieve organisational success? Napier City Council is looking for a Part-Time Recruitment Advisor (20 hours per week) on a fixed term basis to cover a period of parental leave and support our workforce needs.
In this role, you will provide end to end recruitment expertise to our people leaders, offering support, guidance, upskilling, and contributing your subject matter knowledge to ensure effective recruitment. You will work alongside hiring managers of all levels, from first-time recruiters to those filling senior, technical, and hard-to-fill positions, so an ability to tailor your communication to your audience will be essential.

- Provide talent acquisition expertise to NCC people leaders, ensuring we get the right people in the right roles.
- Run a seamless process from job definition to hiring and onboarding, ensuring exceptional candidate experience to support the NCC brand.
- Align recruitment practices with workforce planning and retention for our future success.
- Contribute to making NCC an employer of choice through ensuring fair, compliant, and values-aligned recruitment practices.
- Develop tailored strategies and utilize active recruitment methods to attract candidates for critical senior, technical, and hard-to-fill roles.
- Champion diversity, equity, and Te Ao Māori in recruitment and selection.
- Track and report recruitment metrics and trends with a lens of continous improvement.

You will be someone who is passionate about people and the work we do at Council. You will be self-driven, innovative and an active team member. Ideally you will also be able to demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualification or 3+ years in an HR or recruitment advisory role.
- Recruitment/talent acquisition experience, ideally in the public sector or large organisations.
- End-to-end recruitment experience, including supporting senior, technical, and hard-to-fill roles.
- Ability to design and deliver training, workshops, and resources.
- Strong knowledge of job design, sourcing, interviewing, and offer management.
- Experience with ATS, recruitment software, and social media sourcing.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving for complex recruitment challenges.
- Attention to detail and analytical skills for tracking recruitment metrics.

This is a 9-month Fixed Term opportunity, working Monday to Friday (20hrs per week). We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
