As a part-time Graphic Designer at Napier City Council, you will play a crucial role in shaping and communicating our visual identity. You’ll work on a diverse range of projects, from strategic documents, community campaigns and public information materials to event promotions and digital content. Your creativity and design skills will help enhance the Council’s communication efforts and engage our community effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design development - create visually compelling graphics for print, digital, and social media platforms, including reports, posters, banners, infographics, and digital content.
• Brand consistency - ensure all design work aligns with the Council’s branding guidelines and visual identity.
• Collaboration - work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality design solutions.
• Creative input - bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to design projects, contributing to the overall creative direction of the Council’s communications.
• Quality assurance - review and proofread design materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.

About You:

• Design enthusiast: you have a portfolio that showcases your flair for design and your ability to adapt your style to various mediums and messages.
• Creative problem-solver: you approach challenges with creativity and resourcefulness, always looking for new ways to engage and inform.
• Eye for detail: you understand the importance of detail.
• Team player: you thrive in a collaborative work environment.
• Experience: two years of professional graphic design experience. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
