Customer Service Officer
Permanent, 40 hrs per week Mon-Fri
Napier City Council is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Officer. As a vital point of contact for our diverse community, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of council services.
Our Customer Services Team are the heart of our Council, working with our community every day to connect our services to those who need them. They love what they do and enjoy being part of a close-knit team, working together to go the ‘extra mile' for our customers.
Many of our staff have grown their careers here; been noticed, and moved on to other exciting roles within Council.

You will need:
- Confidence in dealing with people face to face and through technology, listening to customer needs, and providing clear and accurate guidance across all areas of council business.
- Demonstrative decision-making skills, keyboard proficiency and strong Microsoft Office Skills
- Exceptional customer service focus, great conflict resolution skills and high quality oral communication skills
- The ability to work well within a team and the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality in work related matters are essential attributes.
- Able to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
