Groundsperson, Kennedy Park

Permanent position working 40 hours per week - Monday to Sunday, including school holidays and public holidays.

Kennedy Park Resort is a fantastic accommodation and conference venue that creates fun family holiday experiences, hosts family parties, provides the best choice for school group and sports teams accommodation and has a conference venue that lets you get down to business. It is set on 7.2 hectares of land. A pristine presentation of Kennedy Park's grounds, lawns and gardens play a significant part in the guests' overall positive impression.

We are seeking an experienced Groundsperson to assist with the maintenance of Kennedy Park's extensive assets and grounds, including lawns, gardens, buildings, and pools so that they are presented and maintained to a very high standard. You will work to the maintenance/grounds schedule and specific standards set by the Kennedy Park Assets Coordinator, including but not limited to buildings, turf and plant care.

You will also assist with a variety of other operational tasks throughout the resort as and when required.

To be considered for this role, you will have previous experience with the following:

  • General maintenance of buildings, lawns, trees and other plantings
  • Hold a full driver's licence
  • Experience with maintaining and operating machinery and tools
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Be physically fit
  • General labouring
  • Opening and closing of Communal Facilities within Kennedy Park
  • Pool cleaning and maintenance

You will need to have a passion for working outdoors regardless of the weather and getting your hands dirty. This active role enables you to work in a stimulating environment, within beautiful park surroundings.

It is a requirement of Napier City Council that only those workers who are fully vaccinated (i.e. have completed a NZ Government recognised course of COVID-19 vaccination and can provide an electronic copy or screenshot of a Government endorsed Vaccine Pass to demonstrate this) will be able to carry out work at Napier City Council workplace or represent Napier City Council in public. You need to be aware that you will be required to attach a copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination Pass as part of the application process.
