About the role

The P&C Business Partner works with our Business Unit Managers and People Leaders to provide strategic and tactical HR solutions to business needs. The role supports senior managers and ELT members to enhance capability and business outcomes.

You will use your experience in HR to proactively establish relationships across the Council and provide reasoned, practical advice and support to our people leaders. As a trusted advisor, you will coach and guide Managers in all aspects of HR including performance management, recruitment, induction and remuneration. You will be involved in the design, development and implementation of workforce and succession plans, focusing on capacity and capability for current and future needs of Council as well as supporting managers to plan and work through organisational change initiatives.

What you will bring

  • A sound generalist HR background with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience, and a working knowledge of HR practices and employment legislation
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in HR or similar
  • The ability to quickly establish, build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to effectively interact with leaders
  • Flexibility and judgement to adapt your approach to suit a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A positive, pragmatic, can-do attitude
  • An inclusive and collaborative manner
