Wild Life Reserve Team Member
Permanent position working 42½ hours per week (Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 4.30pm - depending on the season)
We have a vacancy for a self-starter who enjoys working outdoors in a variety of work to join the Napier City Council's Parks and Reserves Team.
This role is responsible for the maintenance and presentation of the wild life and other reserves within the Napier area. To be considered for this position, you must have a genuine interest in keeping our reserves looking in top condition for our community. You will be experienced with equipment such as mowers, weedeaters, chainsaws and hand tools. You will also be able to undertake light repairs to playground equipment if required.
Other key requirements for this position:
- A current Drivers Licence (essential)
- A very good level of fitness, able to lift heavy objects
- Accustomed to manual work with previous experience in a labouring role
- Reasonable level of literacy and attention to detail
- Good verbal communication skills
- Mechanical knowledge and/or experience of machinery maintenance.
- Able to drive and operate tractors
