Policy and Standards Engineer
We are looking for someone to join our team, working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Napier City is seeking an experienced and motivated Policy and Standards Engineer to join our Asset Strategy Team on our journey to achieve our City Vision principles.
This is an opportunity to shape the city and its land development and subdivision infrastructure for the better. You will play the pivotal role in the review and development of our Engineering Code of Practice as part of our second generation District Plan review and encourage modern design and sustainable development.
The successful applicant must also be able to assist the wider Development and Standards team, in the review of development applications to ensure compliance with the operative Engineering Code of Practice.
There will be a strong relationship management element to this position as you will need to work across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- Proven infrastructure engineering
- Experience with land development
- Expertise in infrastructure policy, standard development is also very desirable
- An understanding of the Resource Management Act and the NZ Standard for Land Development and Subdivision Infrastructure (NZS 4404:2010)
- Experience with Local Government Engineering Code of Practice documents is also very important in this role.
