Senior Policy Planner

Napier, New Zealand

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Policy Planner to join our City Development team to play a key role in shaping the future of our city. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of city development policies are consistent with Council strategies while providing quality policy advice, analysis and formulation in the field of resource management and local government policy.

This position has a high level of influence and impact across the Council and would ideally suit someone who has at least 7 years' experience in a resource management position, either policy or regulatory.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person with:

  • A tertiary degree or masters qualification in policy planning or natural resource management or similar related field
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to resource management and local government
  • Eligibility for NZPI membership
  • Demonstrated project management skills to enable the co-ordination of strategic environmental research and policy preparation.
