Pool Receptionist - Napier Aquatic Centre

Permanent, part time position working 17.5 hours per week.

Situated in an attractive recreation reserve, the Napier Aquatic Centre includes indoor heated pools, spa pools and 2 fully covered water slides. The complex is open every day, all year round, and offers a 'Learn-to-Swim' programme, school holiday programmes, and a range of recreational activities and events.

We are looking for an exceptional person to work with us as the pool's Receptionist.

This is a permanent part-time role with the following hours:

Monday: 6.00am - 1.00pm
Thursday: 2.30pm - 9.30pm
Saturday: 6.00am - 10.30am

As the first person our customer sees, we need someone with a warm and friendly personality and a strong customer focus. You may be asked at times to cover other shifts for leave etc, so some flexibility is required.

You will have excellent verbal communication skills, including great telephone skills, and be a co-operative team player with flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to all enquiries and complaints and giving accurate information
  • Having up to date knowledge about the centre's facilities and services
  • Maintaining a bookings register for the usage of the centre
  • Performing cashier duties and general administrative tasks as required
  • Contributing to the ongoing proactive support of health and safety strategies and policies

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills:

  • Previous experience and demonstrated high level of competence in a busy customer service environment (preferably in the retail sector)
  • Accurate and speedy cash handling skills, and experience with electronic cash registers
  • General clerical and administrative skills, with basic computer literacy
