Customer Service Assistant - MTG Hawke's Bay

Permanent position working 40 hours per week (rostered Tuesday to Saturday and must be available to work events during weekends, evenings, school holidays & public holidays as/when required).

MTG Hawke's Bay is an award-winning museum, home of the region's taonga and other treasures. We showcase exhibitions of art, culture and social history, offer educational programmes to students of all ages and our Century Theatre features film, live theatre, concerts and more.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Assistant with a focus on events to join our Visitor Engagement team. To be successful in this role you will need to be a well-organised, energetic person with exceptional customer service skills. Your role will require you to help organise and deliver a wide range of events, take bookings, assist with museum tours and work in our gift shop.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Help organise and deliver of a variety of events at the museum and Century Theatre
  • Timely liaison with suppliers and other parties as appropriate to ensure successful events
  • Help develop Health and Safety/Risk Management Plans for events
  • Undertake timely and accurate event budgeting, invoicing and reporting
  • Positively contribute to the Visitor Engagement team

Key requirements include:

  • Proven experience in delivering quality events
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Team player with a positive ‘can-do' attitude
  • EFTPOS/cash handling experience
  • A passion for art, history and culture

A duty manager's licence is desirable but not essential, as we are able to assist the successful candidate to gain this qualification (however you must meet the required criteria).
