Animal Control Administrator

Permanent position working 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday with after hours and weekend work when providing back up to the Animal Control Officers is required.

The Animal Control Team are responsible for the administration of the Dog Control Act 1996 and NCC Bylaws; We investigate reported breaches of the act and bylaws involving dogs and stock control matters. We are active in the community providing education programs to our schools and proactively patrol the community encouraging responsible dog ownership.

We are seeking an energetic person with the right mix of administrative skills and great communication skills to add value to our team of Animal Control Officers.

This is a challenging role that requires you to occasionally work alone and, at times, deal with stressful and emotional situations. Your ability to diffuse tense situations and have empathy for dogs and their owners will be vital.

You will also be responsible for the processing and issuing of dog registration applications, including issuing late payment letters.

There may be times where you will be required to provide back-up to our Animal Control Officers so a knowledge and aptitude for handling animals will support your application (full training will be provided).

  • Strong computer skills particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
